Do you know John Williams?

Today is the Day! Today is the debut of the new Star Wars movie, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens". I don't know if you are a fan of Star Wars or not but I am. I am very much looking forward to seeing this new installment of the Star Wars series. But whether or not you've seen the movies. I'm sure that you have heard the now classic theme song. Just in case you haven't or have forgotten how it goes, see the YouTube link below.
Now that you have heard the song, perhaps for the first time, please click on the link below and listen to the Superman theme song. What do you think? Do these two songs sound similar to you? Have a listen.
There have been many people that have noticed the similarities between these two songs. Why do you think this is? There are several theories concerning why the songs sound so similar, but the most popular one is that the composer, John Williams, is the same person.
I guarantee that although you may not have heard of John Williams, you have heard and know many of his songs. He has composed many popular songs including but not limited to:
  • E.T.
  • Indiana Jones
  • Jurassic Park
  • Superman
  • Jaws
  • Star Wars
  • Saving Private Ryan
  • Harry Potter
So keep this in mind the next time you watch your favorite movie or see a movie, like Star Wars, for the first time. If the movie is popular, and the soundtrack is good, chances are it was written by John Williams.  (Mike)
