To explain, in the movie "Back to the Future" the character Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and his companion Doc Brown, travel to the future. The date that they choose to travel to is October 21st, 2015.
In order to celebrate this film series and its influence on society, I thought I would show a few of the items showcased in the films that have become reality.
1. Hover Boards.
Lexus (the car company) recently announced their own version of the hover board. Although it can't quite float anywhere like in the movie, it's certainly a step in the right direction. Check out the video below for more information about the project.
2. Self tightening shoes.
In the movies, Marty receives a pair of shoes from Doc that tighten and adjust to his feet with the touch of a button.
Although only offering a limited release of the show, Nike is now offering the shoes for purchase with all the money raised to be donated to help fight Parkinson's disease. Please see the link for more information.
Although its sad to the "future" become the past, I am excited to see what our future has in store for us.
